On Wednesday, August 22, 2012, Al and I enjoyed a memorable lunch on Nancy and Gary’s patio with Elly and her friend John Thomson, a classmate at Georgetown Law Center in Washington, DC. They were on their way to northern New Jersey to his parents home to fly on Friday morning to London for the fall semester at Georgetown’s Center for Transnational Studies.

On Sunday, August 19, 2012, Rachel Lassman brought Henry and Dillon to Lancaster for a brief visit and to pick up Gussy, their dog, after their vacation in Toronto. I got a chance to swim with the boys at the Cultural Center pool, as it takes one adult per child at 5 and 3 years of age.

After swimming we had the usual ritual of snacks in our apartment. Nancy had kept Al company while we swam, and listened to many of Al’s old stories.

Henry and Dillon had a chance to play with their Rochester cousins, Ben and Jacob Staggert,  on the way home.
